LP Candidate wins Anambra House of rep seat.
Afam Ogene, a candidate for the Labour Party (LP), was named the victor of the Ogbaru Federal Constituency supplementary election in Anambra by INEC on Sunday.
Chukwuma Onyema of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who had served in the House of Representatives for the district for three terms, was ousted by Mr. Ogene with his victory.

Mr. Ogene received 10,851 votes, defeating Mr. Onyema, who received 10,619 votes, according to INEC’s Returning Officer, Kingsley Ubaorji, who announced the results at Atani, the seat of the Ogbaru Local Government Area.
Arinze Awogu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the second-place finisher, received 10,155 votes, he continued.
“Afam Ogene of the Labour Party, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes cast, is declared winner of the election,’’ Mr Ubaorji said.
Earlier, INEC had declared the initial election held on February 25 inconclusive due to reported case of brutal violence and voter suppression.
