An American Influencer Has Been Arrested For The Murder of Her Nigerian Boyfriend.

Courtney Clenney alias Tailor, an Instagram model and American influencer, has been arrested by the Hawaii Police Department for fatally stabbing her Nigerian boyfriend, Christian Tobechukwu Obumseli.

According to NBC News, the Hawaii Police Department issued a warrant for the arrest of Clenney, 26, on suspicion of second-degree murder with a deadly weapon on Wednesday.

Clenney’s attorney, Frank Prieto, revealed that she was being treated for substance abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder at a rehab facility in Hawaii when she was arrested.

Prieto also stated that the arrest of Clenney was shocking due to “clear evidence of self-defense in this matter.”

As previously reported by The PUNCH in April, police were called to the couple’s Miami apartment after Tobechukwu was discovered bleeding.

Miami Fire Rescue took him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor.

Obumseli’s family had been calling for justice after the American Influencer,  Courtney was not charged under the Baker Act due to concerns about her mental health.

Using the Baker Act, officers in Florida can commit a person to a mental health treatment center for up to 72 hours.

Clenney is scheduled to appear in local district court on Thursday, after which she will be extradited to Florida.
