The Nigeria National Anthem has been played again at the world stage as weightlifter, Adijat Adenike Olarinoye becomes world champion after winning the first gold medal for Nigeria at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Olarinoye recorded a total of 203kg in the women’s 55kg weightlifting event.
Following this record, she won a Gold Medal in the women’s 55kg event at the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships.
At the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, two records were set in 10mins.

Adijat came under pressure during tje weightlifting event, but she survived to clinch GOLD.
In this same week, Tobi Amusan won Gold and set new world record at the World Athletics Championship held in Oregon United States of America.
