This scholarship is looking for well-qualified and highly motivated students who are interested in applying computational tools for materials design related to clean energy technologies.
Number of PhD Positions: Two PhD Positions are available.
Area of research: Computational Material Design-University of Calgary
Research objectives: The research objective is to employ highly accurate computational methods based on density functional theory (DFT) to design novel materials for clean energy technologies.
Areas of interest: Areas of interest include catalysis, hydrogen storage, and optoelectronics.
Students with a background in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science or related discipline are encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for computational chemistry and material simulations and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience with computational software (e.g. VASP, Quantum ESPRESSO)
Experience with programming languages (e.g. Python) is highly desirable.
